Total & Permanent Disability (TPD)
What is TPD Cover?
TPD provides a lump sum payout should you become totally and permanently disabled to the extent you are unlikely to work again.
Why might you need TPD Cover?
While Life Cover provides security for your beneficiary/s in the event of your death, it’s also important to consider the financial impact of surviving a serious illness or injury that results in permanent disability.
Examples of what TPD is often used for.
When determining the level of cover needed to ensure financial stability most applicants will take into account things such as: -
-
the costs of any financial dependents.
-
total of any outstanding significant debt
-
Immediate medical expenses
-
any other existing financial commitments
Other considerations.
They will also take into account any potential new costs, either once off or ongoing brought about by their disability such as fulltime care, rehabilitation, home modifications and the provision of an ongoing regular income.
